SQL DBA
The SQL DBA will assist application development staff and customers in developing business requirements for applications and databases, evaluation of alternative technologies available to address these requirements, and completion of analysis of resource requirements for solutions developed. This individual will perform database lifecycle support including:
- Logical and physical database modeling
- Construction of physical databases and normalization of databases
- Comprehensive testing of databases and associated applications
- Maintenance and tuning of databases to ensure optimal performance
- Development of complex scripts for importing and exporting of data
- Provide reports utilizing SQL Reporting Services and ad hoc queries
The SQL DBA will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading the client's SQL database software infrastructure as part of the their technology plan. This individual must have the capability to evaluate and understand complex security requirements and Enterprise standards imposed on the client due to the confidential nature of tax return information maintained in the SQL databases.
The SQL DBA must meet the following requirements:
- Have 5 + years experience developing and installing database management systems.
- Have 5 + years experience in the design and development of complex MS SQL databases operating within a wide area network and internet applications in an environment similar to the Department.
- Demonstrated expertise in relational database queries.
- Knowledgeable in data transformation, BizTalk preferred.
- Have senior-level expertise in the use of VB.Net, ASP.net, ADO.Net, and XML parsing, schema design and development.
- Demonstrated experience in application of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for development and deployment of web services.
- Proven experience in the development of structured test scripts and plans for use in executing unit and system testing.
Additionally, the individuals selected for either position must meet the following requirements:
- Possess strong business writing and interpersonal skills necessary for customer contact.
- Be capable of completing multiple programming assignments in a timely manner (perform work as assigned).
- Adhere to written established work rules including all confidentiality and security requirements.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must be up-to-date and in compliance with State of Iowa tax filing requirements.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, supervisors, and customers.
- Be available for work at the client's central office location no later than August 19, 2011 on a full time (40 hours a week) basis.
