Technical Team Lead

Job Title: Technical Team Lead

Job Summary: Johnson & Associates seeks to hire a Technical Team Lead for a six month engagement with the possibility of hire in Des Moines, IA. The primary purpose of this position is to lead the client’s application team, which includes customer relationship management, technical configurations which include some SQL scripting, training, bug/defect fixes, vendor coordination, contributing to the development direction for this application, and gathering feedback from product improvements.  Application support scope is 7x24 with a rotating on-call support function after normal business hours.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to communicate clearly with client company end-users, peers, and management, have strong troubleshooting, conceptual, analytical, and judgment skills. The individual must demonstrate initiative, good judgment, and a business savvy orientation.

Projected Start Date: Late October

Duration/Status: Hourly, six month contract with the possibility of hire

Compensation: Paid bi – monthly, dependent upon experience

Job Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for developing a strong understanding of the client’s application, its business use, and oversight of other technical support functions. Responsibilities include: business analysis, good understanding of relational databases/SQL, application configuration changes which use SQL, a general understanding of development principals and java, and coordinating with an outside vendor for java development.
  • Customer Relationship Management. Provide outstanding customer service to the companies and in helping users understand how to use the software most effectively. Communicating status of customer deliverables.
  • Team Leadership. Functional responsibilities: Performance reviews, Team meetings, Team development, etc.
  • Project Management of team deliverables. Managing and tracking progress on projects and/or defect resolution. Cross team communication and coordination.
  • Travel as needed; estimate 2-5 trips a year to meet with existing companies who use the client’s application and to manage project deliverables.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • 8-10 years progressive IT experience encompassing roles such as business analysis, application configuration support, and application development.
  • Progressive leadership experience.
  • Experience working in larger scale IT support roles, especially with transactional based systems Relational Database/SQL experience
  • Excellent problem solving skills, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong customer management and organizational skills
  • Ability to understand business issues that drive technology needs
  • Ability to determine how changes impact customers and other systems
  • Ability to act decisively and step forward to address and resolve difficult issues
  • Demonstrated self initiation in a project role Workers’ Compensation and/or Insurance experience and vendor management experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or the equivalent work experience

Security Administrator

Job Summary: Johnson & Associates seeks to hire a Security Administrator for a three month engagement with the possibility of extension and hire with a direct client in Omaha, NE. The Security Administrator will maintain application security access for the client’s applications in a way that adheres to the Sarbanes Oxley control, and in accordance to established service level agreements and/or project plans.  This position is also responsible for helping ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Controls across multiple applications.

Projected Start Date: Early/Mid October

Duration/Status: Hourly, three month contract with the possibility of extension and the possibility of direct hire

Compensation: Paid bi – monthly, dependent upon experience

Job Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

·         Add, change and delete security for multiple applications

·         Work closely with management to understand Sarbanes Oxley access authorization requirements

·         Assist management in creating remediation plans for any process weaknesses that exist   

·         Identify opportunities for process improvements for the various applications

·         Research and recommend processes that are more efficient and effective

·         Execute access requests in accordance with established service level objectives and/or project plans

·         Establish credibility with end-users via the provision of timely and accurately processed access requests

·         Comply with established access request control processes

·         Maintain complete and accurate documentation for access requests

·         Generate timely quarterly access reports

·         Assist in the administration of SOX QA processes for multiple applications

·         Assist in gathering documentation for auditors as requested to ensure adherence to SOX controls.

Skills/Experience Required:

·         BS or BA required, preferably in MIS or Computer Science

·         1 - 2 years experience as an application security administrator or junior level professional with an internal IT audit group

·         Exposure to project management principles and Sarbanes Compliance controls

·         Ability to handle and maintain confidential information

·         Ability to multi-task

·         Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business professionals

·         Demonstrated problem solving ability and skill in developing acceptable solutions to customer problems

·         Strong interpersonal communication skills and problem solving skills

·         High level of customer service focus

·         Exhibits self motivation and takes initiative

·         Excellent presentation and leadership skills

·         Experience with Financial applications a plus

·         Assist in Peoplesoft cutover to launch the upgraded software and document and troubleshoot issues

Skills/Experience Required:

·         Significant technical experience, in which the main focus of the assignment involved the analytical and technical tasks required to perform one or more PeopleSoft Application and/or Tools upgrades from PeopleTools Application release levels of 8.x to a PeopleTools Application release level of 9.x of a highly customized PeopleSoft Application where the customizations were integrated with delivered processing as part of the upgrade process. ·         Five or more years of highly technical experience in a professional environment which includes applications programming and systems analysis; demonstrated knowledge of and experience in People Tools with strengths in PeopleTools, Reports, Queries and SQRs

·         In – depth knowledge of PeopleSoft version 9.0 HR/Benefits Administration
